Your favorite season, summer, is here!!

Although many people look forward to bathing in the warm sand along the beach, some don’t enjoy this season, especially those who have dry skin. The harsh rays of the sun, the dirt, and pollution may damage our skins. Despite the scorching sun, there is still hope in keeping your skin hydrated. So how can you keep your skin hydrated during summer? You can achieve this by;

  1. Keep Skin Moisturized

During summer, expect your skin to lose a lot of moisture. That is why it is important to keep hydrating to compensate for the lost water. It is advisable to take ten glasses of water daily and eat more fruits. Milk and honey are good for moisturizing; therefore, it is good to use them before sleeping.

2. Cleanse & Exfoliate

It is essential to cleanse your face and use a scrubber to scrub your skin. Washing your skin gets rid of dirt and unclogs your skin’s pores. Make sure to follow this procedure besides the moisturizing lotions and facemasks you use.

3. Use Sunscreen

Sunscreen will protect your skin from ultraviolet rays from direct sunlight. These rays are responsible for skin aging and wrinkles. When you wear sunscreen, your skin will be protected from UV radiation, and you will not suffer their effects.

4. Avoid Wearing Too Much Makeup

Heavy makeup might clog your pores. Avoiding makeup will help your pores by keeping them open. They will, therefore, have a chance to breathe to protect the skin’s natural glow. If you have to wear makeup, make it light. You can also layer your foundation with face powder to avoid patchy spots.

5. Change Your Moisturizer

This seems like a routine for winter, but it is also suitable for your skin during summer. However, do not use the same moisturizers you used during winter.

Winter moisturizers are most likely to be more substantial. It would be best if you had lighter and non-greasy moisturizers during summer. This moisturizer will help lock necessary moisture in your skin.

6. Exercise.

It would be best if you sweat, especially during summer. Do not just sit on the couch, watching TV as you sip a glass of cold juice. Exercising improves blood flow, and this translates to more oxygen in the tissues.

If you have acne, your body will heal it fast. For exercises, there are many forms to choose from. You can choose to play games, hike, or spend some quality time in the gym.

7. Use Tomatoes

Yes, tomatoes on your skin. Tomatoes have antioxidants. To make a tomato applicant, mix lemon juice with tomato and apply all over your face.

Let it stay on your face for a minimum of 10 minutes for maximum absorption. Wash your face with cold water. This will help in hydrating tour skin.

8. Take Cold Water Showers

Summers are hot, and taking hot showers feels like you are frying yourself in the shower. Hot showers and steam baths dehydrate your skin.

A cold water shower has a cooling effect on your body, and it keeps your skin pores open. It also keeps you safe from getting breakouts and acne.

Summer will not stay with us forever. However, if you get careless with your skin and it gets that acne, chances are it will take very long to heal. Since this can be prevented, it is wise to take precautions.
